We often get asked about caring for hens whilst people go away for a weekend or other holiday. So many people have asked, we are setting up a little database of people interested in hen-sitting in exchange for someone hen-sitting for them. Usually it is easy to ask a neighbour to let your hens out, feed them, check water and lock them away of an evening, perhaps in exchange for keeping the eggs laid during that time. But not everyone has access to a neighbour like that, and surprisingly some people are nervous of birds. So we have set up a database of people who would be happy to hen-sit for someone, on the understanding that those people will hen sit in return for them. A type of hen-sitting buddy system!
